A partial influence of the western disturbance is currently prevailing over Nepal, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM). Due to this system, weather conditions across different parts of the country have shown slight changes, with light snowfall and rain expected in high hilly and Himalayan regions today (Friday).
Fog and Low Visibility in Terai and Eastern Nepal

The meteorological department reported that fog and mist were observed in several areas of Koshi Province and Madhesh Province on Friday morning.
As a result, visibility has significantly reduced in many Terai districts, particularly during early morning hours, which may affect road transportation.
Meanwhile, partial cloud cover has been recorded across most hilly and Himalayan regions, including Koshi Province.

Light Snowfall Likely in Gandaki’s High Himalayas

According to weather experts, one or two locations in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki Province may experience light rainfall along with snowfall during the day.
Areas most likely to be affected include Manang, Mustang, Lamjung, and nearby high-altitude regions, as per DHM’s assessment.
Night Weather Outlook: Cold Conditions to Continue

By night, fog is expected to persist in some parts of the Terai, while generally cloudy conditions will prevail in the high Himalayan regions. Other parts of the country are likely to experience partly cloudy skies.
The department has also maintained that light rain and snowfall may continue at one or two locations in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
Travel Advisory Issued Due to Cold and Snowfall

Considering the cold weather conditions, the Meteorological Department has urged the public to remain cautious, especially during morning and nighttime hours.
Additionally, possible snowfall may disrupt road and air transportation, particularly in high hilly and Himalayan regions. Travelers planning journeys to these areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with official weather forecasts.
