This might just be the worst advice you ever had with relation to fitness and weight loss: “Eat Fat to Lose Fat”. Yeah, you heard that right. Read that again. But it’s not just any normal fat we are talking about. It’s Avocado we are talking about, which is high in calories due to high fat content. And this might just be the diet with good fat you are missing to help you slim down. But that too comes with caveats.

Even though Avocado is high in fat and calories, it comes with monounsaturated fat which is actually good fat. Additionally it is rich in fibre as well as Vitamin E. Several research and studies into the health benefits of this superfood Avocado indicate that it helps to lose weight, maintain body mass index (BMI) and cut off extra belly fat. One reason is it being incredibly satiating and filling which keeps you away from intermittent hunger by controlling your appetite.

The key to success lies not in avoiding failure, but in learning from each attempt.

An essential ingredient in Keto-diet

In spite of being high in calorie, it is worth noting that Avocado is the most valued ingredient in “Keto-diet” which is simply a low-carb, high-fat diet. This diet may sound controversial in itself when it comes to fitness and weight loss, but this is how it works. With a low-carb diet, our body goes into the state of “ketosis” (hence the name). In normal conditions, carbs are the main source of energy for our body. But with depleted carbs, our body turns to fat to burn it into energy. Sounds cool, right!?

Besides, avocados are lower in sugar and thus highly beneficial for diabetic patients. There are several popular recipes available for Avocado. But the simplest way you can use it is for Sandwich and Salad. Or you can use it instead of normal butter in breads, one reason why Avocado is also called butter fruit.

If you have never ever had Avocado in your life, chances are you won’t like its taste at all or you might just fall in love with its tasteless taste. Trust me, it doesn’t have that “descriptive” taste. Make sure you are not allergic to Avocado. And don’t overeat it. As long as you are having it in moderate quantities, you need not worry. The calorie intake and calorie burn equation is still applicable to Avocado too.

Happy Losing Fat by Eating Fat.
